TanbrieGold Leadership Institute

Organisational Leadership Development

When pressure rises, leadership patterns become business problems.

Make visible the values and motivations shaping how your leaders make decisions, respond under pressure and affect trust, alignment and performance.

TanbrieGold combines individual leadership analysis, personalised development planning and facilitated team development to turn that visibility into focused action across your leadership group.

Discuss your leadership team

Designed for executive and senior leadership teams, and for organisations developing leaders at important transition points.

Tailored to your organisation, leadership context and development priorities.

The organisational challenge

Leadership problems rarely begin with a lack of capability

Most leadership development focuses on competencies and visible behaviour. It rarely examines the values and motivations driving how leaders respond when priorities compete and pressure rises.

You may recognise that:

  • Capable leaders make decisions that become less consistent under pressure.
  • Leadership strengths begin to create unintended consequences when they are overused.
  • Leaders interpret the same organisational priority in different ways.
  • Feedback identifies a behaviour, but not what is driving the pattern.
  • New or emerging leaders step into greater responsibility without a clear leadership direction.
  • The leadership team knows alignment is weakening but cannot clearly identify why.

These challenges are rarely caused by poor intent. They emerge when the patterns shaping leadership decisions remain unseen.

Making those patterns visible gives leaders and organisations a clearer foundation for focused development, stronger alignment and more deliberate action.

What becomes visible

See what is shaping leadership across your organisation

Each leader receives a personalised view of the values, motivations and patterns shaping their leadership.

Where organisational mapping is included, relevant individual results are aggregated within agreed confidentiality boundaries to identify recurring strengths, development needs and areas of tension across the leadership group.

Leadership drivers

Identify the primary and secondary motivations influencing how each leader approaches decisions, responsibility and impact.

Values under pressure

See the values leaders are most likely to prioritise and protect when expectations compete or the stakes rise.

Leadership tensions

Examine how leaders balance results and relationships, growth and stability, and principles and self-mastery.

Strengths and overextension

Recognise the contributions created by each leadership pattern and where those strengths may begin to produce unintended consequences.

Leadership development range

Identify responses that are currently less active and could be developed to increase flexibility across different leadership situations.

Collective leadership patterns

See where leadership tendencies reinforce one another, where gaps may exist and where competing priorities could affect alignment, trust or performance.

The purpose is not to label leaders or prescribe a single way of leading. It is to create a shared language for examining what is shaping leadership and where focused development could make the greatest difference.

The organisational engagement

From individual insight to focused organisational development

A TanbrieGold organisational engagement combines individual leadership analysis with facilitated development at leader, team and organisational levels.

The final structure is tailored to your leadership group, organisational context and intended outcomes.

Leadership Drivers Analysis™

Each participant completes the structured analysis and receives a personalised report identifying their leadership drivers, core values, leadership tensions and broader development range.

Individual interpretation and advisory

Leaders are supported to examine their results in relation to their role, current responsibilities and leadership context.

Personalised Leadership Development Plans

Each leader develops a practical plan connecting their analysis to focused development priorities, agreed actions and evidence of progress.

Organisational leadership mapping

Individual results are aggregated within agreed confidentiality boundaries to create a collective view of recurring leadership strengths, potential gaps, areas of tension and patterns that may be influencing organisational performance.

Facilitated leadership development

Structured sessions help leaders examine individual and collective patterns, build a shared leadership language and translate insight into practical action.

Alignment and review

Individual priorities are connected with team and organisational requirements, with follow-up support available to review progress and refine the next stage of development.

The engagement can support a senior leadership team, a wider leadership cohort or leaders moving through important organisational transitions.

How it works

A structured pathway from analysis to organisational action

Each engagement is designed around the organisation's leadership context, intended outcomes and participating group.

1

Scope and alignment

Begin with an organisational conversation to clarify the leadership context, desired outcomes, participating leaders and the appropriate level of individual and collective development.

The scope also confirms confidentiality, access to results, organisational mapping and how progress will be reviewed.

2

Individual leadership analysis

Each participant completes the Leadership Drivers Analysis™ and receives a personalised report identifying their leadership drivers, values, tensions, strengths and broader development range.

The report provides the foundation for the guided interpretation and development process that follows.

3

Guided interpretation and individual development

Each leader participates in a guided interpretation conversation facilitated by TanbrieGold or an agreed organisational practitioner.

Together, they examine the results in relation to the leader's role, current responsibilities and leadership challenges.

The practitioner then works with the leader to translate that insight into a personalised Leadership Development Plan containing focused priorities, practical actions and evidence of progress.

4

Organisational mapping and facilitated development

Relevant individual results are aggregated within agreed confidentiality boundaries to identify collective strengths, potential gaps and areas of leadership tension.

Facilitated sessions help the group explore how these patterns may be affecting decisions, relationships, alignment and organisational performance.

5

Alignment, action and review

Individual and collective development priorities are connected with the organisation's wider requirements.

Leaders agree practical actions, apply them within their work and review evidence of progress through the agreed follow-up process.

The process creates a clear connection between individual leadership development, team effectiveness and organisational priorities.

Organisational outcomes

What this enables

The engagement creates a connected view of leadership development, linking individual insight with team effectiveness and organisational priorities.

For individual leaders

  • A clearly identified leadership pattern.
  • Greater visibility of the values and motivations shaping decisions.
  • Recognition of how strengths may become overextended under pressure.
  • A focused development priority connected to their current role.
  • A practical Leadership Development Plan containing actions and evidence of progress.
  • Guided support to apply the insight within real leadership situations.

For leadership teams

  • A shared language for discussing leadership patterns and priorities.
  • Greater visibility of collective strengths, gaps and areas of tension.
  • More deliberate conversations about decisions, relationships and leadership impact.
  • Clearer recognition of where different leadership approaches reinforce or challenge one another.
  • Agreed actions supporting stronger alignment across the group.

For the organisation

  • Leadership development connected more clearly with organisational requirements.
  • More focused investment in the areas of development that matter most.
  • Greater consistency in how leadership expectations are discussed and applied.
  • Better visibility of patterns that may be affecting trust, alignment or performance.
  • A structured foundation for leadership transitions, succession and continued development.

The engagement does not prescribe one ideal leadership style. It helps leaders and organisations identify what is shaping current practice and make more deliberate decisions about what to strengthen, adjust or develop next.

Focused development priority

Agreed actions

Leadership insight becomes useful when it is connected to a current context, focused priorities and actions that can be reviewed over time.

Each participant's analysis provides the foundation for a personalised Leadership Development Plan. The initial plan is generated from the leader's results and then developed collaboratively through guided conversations.

The plan connects:

  • The leader's primary and secondary leadership drivers.
  • Their most active values and leadership tensions.
  • Strengths that currently support their leadership.
  • Patterns that may emerge or become overextended under pressure.
  • A current leadership situation requiring attention.
  • One or two focused development priorities.
  • Practical actions and evidence that can be reviewed over time.

The plan is not a generic list of leadership goals. It is a working document connecting the leader's underlying motivations with the situations, decisions and relationships that matter within their role.

Confidentiality and responsible use

Leadership development requires trust

Organisational leadership development can only work when participants understand how their information will be used and what will be shared.

TanbrieGold establishes the confidentiality and information-sharing arrangements at the beginning of each engagement.

1

Individual results remain confidential

Each participant receives their own Leadership Drivers Analysis™ report. Individual reports are not provided to the organisation unless the participant has been informed of the intended disclosure and has authorised it.

2

Organisational insight is aggregated

Where organisational mapping is included, relevant results are aggregated and de-identified to identify collective strengths, gaps and areas of tension. Where a small group or distinctive result could make an individual reasonably identifiable, that risk is explained and addressed before information is shared.

3

Development Plans remain participant-led

Each Leadership Development Plan is developed with the participant. The participant can review any plan, extract or development information intended for an organisational contact before it is shared.

4

Access is agreed before the engagement begins

The organisational scope confirms who can access information, what reporting will be provided and how individual and collective development priorities will be managed.

This approach allows organisations to gain meaningful leadership insight without removing appropriate confidentiality, participant involvement or human oversight.

Why TanbrieGold

Developed from leadership practice, not theory alone

TanbrieGold Leadership Institute was founded by Anna Howard, who brings 20 years of leadership experience, including six years at senior executive level across New Zealand and London.

Anna has led large teams, organisational change and complex decisions where performance expectations, stakeholder needs, ethical considerations and long-term consequences had to be balanced.

The Leadership Drivers framework was developed from this direct experience and informed by doctoral-level leadership research into how values and motivations shape decisions, particularly when pressure intensifies.

A structured and human-guided approach

TanbrieGold combines defined analysis and interpretation frameworks with guided leadership conversations.

The approach is designed to:

  • Move beneath visible behaviour to examine what is driving it.
  • Provide a clear and consistent foundation for leadership development.
  • Connect individual insight with team and organisational priorities.
  • Retain human judgement, context and confidentiality throughout the process.
  • Translate leadership insight into practical development actions.

TanbrieGold organisational engagements are led by Anna and may involve agreed internal practitioners where appropriate to the engagement.

Anna Howard, Founder of TanbrieGold Leadership Institute

“This began as a way to make sense of leadership tension in my own practice. It has since evolved into a structured methodology supporting leaders to navigate complexity with clarity and integrity.”
